About Locale

Locale was built because choosing a school for a child should not feel like an ordeal.

Anyone who has been through it will recognise the stress. Ofsted reports sit in one place, catchment areas in another. Crime figures, property prices, deprivation data and exam results are scattered across a dozen government websites, each with its own login, its own map, its own way of burying the thing you actually need. The data is fragmented. The information is spotty. And the whole process is far more cumbersome than it has any right to be.

That pain is understood here, because it was lived. The late nights with seventeen tabs open, the second-guessing, the quiet stress of wondering whether something important had been missed - all of it.

So, Locale was made to spare other parents the same stress. Everything is pulled into one place: schools, nurseries, crime, prices, deprivation, and property checks. And it is offered freely, on principle - this kind of information should be accessible to every parent, not locked behind a paywall or gated by a login. It is built entirely from open, public data, and it is free to use because the decisions being made here are too important for it to be anything else.

So here it is, dear parent. May it save you the stress it was built to prevent.

Best of luck with your search.
